Qualifications
Dr. Ruth Schmidt Neven has a PhD in Psychology, is a registered psychologist with AHPRA, a member of the Australian Psychological Society and Fellow of the Clinical College. She is also a member of the British Association of Child Psychotherapists. Medicare rebates are available with a Mental Health Care Plan from a GP and Private Health Insurance rebates may also apply.
Dr. Ruth Schmidt Neven has extensive experience over four decades as a psychotherapist. She trained at the Tavistock Clinic in London and worked for many years in the National Health Service where she was a pioneer in parent support. In Australia Ruth was the inaugural Chief Psychotherapist at the Royal Children's Hospital in Melbourne. Ruth runs training programmes for mental health professionals throughout Australia and overseas. She is the author of five books and several clinical papers on psychotherapy, counselling and child and family development.
